What are Beijing’s objectives towards the developing world and how they have evolved and been pursued over time? Featuring contributions by recognized experts, China Steps Out analyses and explains China’s strategies in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, and evaluates their effectiveness. This new work explains how other countries perceive and respond to China’s growing engagement and influence. Each of its well designed and expertly executed chapters is informed by the functionally organized academic literature and addresses a uniform set of questions about Beijing’s strategy. Using a regional approach, the authors make comparisons among regions based on their economic, political, military, and social characteristics, and consider the unique features of Chinese engagement in each region and the developing world as a whole. CSIS’s own Dr. Michael Green, Senior Vice President for Asia and Japan Chair, extols that “This new volume is a must read for anyone trying to make sense of China’s impact around the globe. China Steps Out will be of great interest to students and scholars of Chinese foreign policy, comparative political economy, and international relations." Join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a discussion on China Steps Out and the implications of China’s strategy for the world. The discussion will feature Joshua Eisenman, Ph.D., (The University of Texas at Austin) and Dr. Eric Heginbotham, Ph.D., (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Bonnie Glaser, Director of the China Power Project and Senior Adviser for Asia at CSIS, will moderate. Dr. Michael Green, Senior Vice President for Asia and Japan Chair, will open the event. Book will be available immediately after the event for $50.00. Payment can be made in cash.

Auditoire Agency and Sila Sveta studio collaborated on the national Mercedes-Benz E-Class Long Wheelbase launch event in China. Starting from February 2016 the two creative teams developed the whole event concept together. The main focus of our studio was on the projection show. However, the overall intension for the organizers was to make a smooth and borderless experience for each guest during the event. Following the "Intelligent Event" concept, Sila Sveta designed immersive projection graphics for the 40-meter panoramic setup. The studio produced an opening show in stereo, a dynamic show on a kinetic stage for the reveal moment, interactive video presentations, product talks and many more. The premiere in Beijing was the first one in a series of events, which were later held in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. CHINAChina's military has tested a railroad launch of a DF-41 long-range missile on December 5 that is capable of reaching US soil, The Washington Free Beacon reported. The DF-41 reportedly has a range of 7,500 miles, or over 12,000 kilometers. Estimates by US intelligence agencies say that the DF-41 will carry up to 10 MIRVs when it's deployed. Mobile basing of missiles makes them harder to keep track of and more versatile in their range of targets. According to Rick Fisher, an expert on the Chinese military program, there are 74,565 miles of rail lines in China, and 9,942 high speed rails, which makes the country's ICBM missile systems harder to track down. Phillip A. Karber, a defense expert who heads the Potomac Foundation told The Washington Free Beacon: "The combination of high-speed mobility, launch cars disguised as civilian passenger trains, tunnel protection and secure reloading of missiles, coupled with multiple warheads, makes the system extremely hard to regulate or verify the number of systems." "We have also seen imagery of huge tunnel complexes capable of hosting three missile trains side by side," Karber added. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
